Lee & Ko successfully advised private equity firm Skylake Equity Partners in its acquisition of 16,190,608 common stocks issued by Doosan Solus, a listed company on the securities market, from Doosan Corporation and its affiliated individual shareholders. The share purchase agreement was successfully signed on September 4, 2020, with the total deal value of KRW 700 billion. Lee & Ko provided legal advice on behalf of Skylake for several months in regards to conducting due diligence (including overseas subsidiaries through local law firms in Hungary and Luxembourg), reviewing the transaction structure (including fund establishment), and negotiating interests between fund investors. This transaction is the largest M&A transaction for Skylake and holds great significance as it is the very first M&A transaction with a listed company.
