Lee & Ko represented LG Uplus, one of Korea’s top three mobile communications companies, in the acquisition of newly issued shares in KT Music, a subsidiary of KT, which is also one of Korea’s top three mobile communications companies. The total price of the transaction was KRW 26.8 billion. Throughout the course of the transaction, Lee & Ko advised on all relevant legal matters related to the transaction, thereby enabling the transaction to be completed successfully on April 13, 2017. Through its acquisition of shares newly issued by KT Music, LG Uplus entered into a cooperative relationship with KT as well as KT Music in online music service business to amplify the synergy with its mobile communications business.
