K2 코리아, 소송을 통해 K2 상표 성공적으로 보호

Lee & Ko successfully represented K2 Korea, Korea’s largest manufacturer of hiking gear and equipment, in its application for a preliminary injunction against K2 Sports to prevent unfair competition activities based on K2 Sports’ misappropriation of K2 Korea’s trademark.  In a ruling made on [date], the Korean Supreme Court held that K2 Sports’ relevant trademark registrations were all invalid because these trademarks were created by merely adding drawings or letters to K2 Korea’s well-known trademark “K2” and thus were registered with the intent of misappropriating the commercial value of the “K2” trademark held by K2 Korea.
