Lee & Ko Participates in Hosting Seminar on the Topic of BEPS-Related Transfer Pricing and International Tax Risk Manage

Mr. Kyeong Ho Park, a Lee & Ko partner (and former public prosecutor) was appointed on May 20, 2016 to serve a two-year term as a non-standing member of the Central Administrative Appeals Commission (CAAC). The CAAC, which is a special commission tasked with hearing and adjudicating appeals regarding administrative rulings, was established under the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) pursuant to provisions of the Act ConcerninsOn July 22, 2016, Lee & Ko participated in hosting a seminar aimed at promoting discussion and educating attendees with regard to transfer pricing and international tax risk management strategies relating to BEPS concerns in 8 of the world’s leading economies. The seminar was held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Seoul.
Approximately 100 professionals attended the seminar, and RSM International, one of the top 6 global accounting firms, and CKP, the largest Korean-American accounting firm in the U.S., joined with Lee & Ko in hosting the event.
The seminar was mainly organized for the benefit of domestic (Korean) companies seeking to better understand transfer pricing and international tax risk management issues in relation to BEPS (Base Erosion & Profit Shifting) concerns in a number of key countries, namely: Korea, the United States, China, Mexico, India, Vietnam, Russia and Japan.
The seminar began with a welcome address by Lee & Ko lawyer, who is a partner at Lee & Ko, followed by a panel discussion participated in by experts from each of the above-referenced countries.
