Yonhap News said, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, “Ambassador Choi served as ambassador to the South Korean Permanent Mission in Geneva from 2012 to 2015 and was in charge of core affairs in economy and trade diplomacy, and we expect he will continue to contribute to the promotion of national interests based on his expertise and networks in related fields,” and also announced that “Ambassador Choi plans to advise and support Minister for Trade, Myunghee Yu, who was nominated for the seat of Secretary-General at the World Trade Organization (WTO), on election campaign strategy based on his experience in Geneva, where WTO is located.”
Senior adviser Seokyoung Choi has been a diplomat for 37 years and has substantial diplomatic and bargaining experience in bilateral and multilateral fields, and is particularly recognized as an expert in trade and international transactions, such as WTO and FTA. He joined Lee & Ko in 2016 and provides advice based on his extensive economic and diplomatic experience.
