Publication of “The Design Protection Act: Theories and Practices for Professionals” by Mr. Boogyu Kwak

Mr. Boogyu Kwak, a partner in Lee & Ko’s IP Practice Group, has recently published a book titled “The Design Protection Act: Theories and Practices for Professionals.” The book is divided into two sections. The first section compares Korean Supreme Court precedents with other countries’ theories and cases with regard to four key design issues (aesthetic sense, similarity, creativity, function) in the context of design disputes. The second section analyzes and summarizes Patent Court rulings with regard to various distinct product categories.  Mr. Kwak’s book is expected to serve as a highly practical and helpful reference work for IP dispute-resolution practitioners.
