Dong Seok Woo is a partner in the Banking & Finance Group. He specializes in Acquisition Finance, Real Estate, Project Finance and Energy & Natural Resources, with a particular emphasis on cross-border and overseas investment transactions.

Mr. Woo offers wide-ranging expertise in acquisition finance through his experience on a variety of transactions acting for both syndicated lenders and borrowers in numerous high-profile transactions. Clients who benefit from Mr. Woo's considerable experience include international and domestic commercial banks and financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase Bank, BNP Paribas, The Korea Development Bank and Kookmin Bank. Mr. Woo's practice focuses on complex acquisition finance transaction, particularly those financings that include international private equity funds' acquisition of Korean companies and Korean investors' acquisition of overseas companies.

Some of his representative cases in acquisition finance include Fila Korea's acquisition of Acushnet, KKR/Affinity's acquisition of Oriental Brewery, Baring/Glenwood's acquisition of Halla Cement, Morgan Stanley PE's acquisition of Nolboo, Net 1 UEPS Technologies' acquisition of KSNet, Unitas Capital's acquisition of Buy The Way and CVC Asia Pacific's acquisition of WiniaMando. Recently, he represented Carlyle Group in its acquisition of ADT Caps.

Mr. Woo also specializes in real estate development projects and commercial transactions. In particular, he regularly advises real estate funds in acquisition or sale of office buildings, hotels and retail complex (including hypermarket and department stores). He represented sponsor in relation to the construction of Banyan Tree Hotel in Seoul and Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort and acted for international investors in their acquisition of office buildings in Seoul. Further, he actively advised various investors in their acquisition of overseas real properties located in USA, Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia region.

Based on his extensive experience in cross-border transactions over the past years, Mr. Woo has become one of the leading practitioners in the overseas investment practice in Korea including real estate and project finance. Since his secondment experience at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, one of the premier law firms in Canada, Mr. Woo has also been active energy and natural resource transactions.

Mr. Woo holds a B.A. in law from Seoul National University, College of Law and a Master of Law (LL.M.) from Georgetown University.
