Gihwan Kim advises on a wide range of labor and employment matters, with particular focus on disputes involving foreign-invested companies, including employee-status claims, unfair dismissals, and disciplinary actions. His practice encompasses advising on wage, severance, and incentive structures; managing contract-termination disputes related to exclusive service agreements; and conducting workplace-harassment investigations as well as developing remediation and prevention frameworks. He also provides strategic counsel on employment contracts, workplace rules, internal HR policies, and workforce-management issues between global headquarters and Korean subsidiaries. In addition, he regularly advises on compliance with the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and related workplace-safety obligations.
Leveraging his corporate advisory experience, Mr. Kim also assists clients in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, foreign and inbound investment, and general corporate advisory matters, enabling him to deliver comprehensive and integrated advice at the intersection of labor law and corporate transactions.
