Kyung Tae Kim is a partner at Lee & Ko. His practice is primarily focused on tax litigation, securities litigation, tax consulting and civil litigation involving accounting and tax issues. Since joining Lee & Ko in 2002, he has represented numerous civil, criminal, tax and securities litigations and obtained favorable results on behalf of financial institutions for successfully defending against suits brought by investors. Prior to joining Lee & Ko in 2002, he was a Judge in the Daejeon District Court for three years presiding over Tax, Civil, Criminal and Corporate cases. Prior to being appointed as a judge, he was a Korean Certified Public Accountant (license obtained in 1992) at KPMG San Dong Accounting Firm where he provided tax advisory service for various clients. Mr. Kim also served as a member of the Committee for Review of Adequacy of Tax Imposition at the Jungbu Regional Tax Office from 2009 to 2011, as was appointed as a special counsel for the Jungbu Regional Tax Office from 2013 to 2016.

In terms of education, Mr. Kim received his B.A. degree in Business Management from Yonsei University in 1994, completed his legal training at the Judicial Training Institute in 1999 and obtained his LL.M. degree in Taxation from the University of Washington in 2008.
