As a senior advisor to Lee & Ko, Woong Seob Zhin offers his specialized knowledge and unique insight on a wide range of sectors, including the Korean economy and finances in particular. He worked for more than thirty years in the public service sector, where he was in charge of formulating and implementing economic and financial policies and systems as well as policies involving international cooperation and financial supervision.

Mr. Zhin started his public office career in the Ministry of Finance, and since then, worked for the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Financial Supervisory Service and Financial Services Commission, during which he held key posts as director general of Capital Market Bureau and Commissioner of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). As an incumbent director general of the Capital Market Bureau, he took the lead in implementing an investment bank system and Korea New Exchange (KONEX) market, and in launching a hedge fund. As a commissioner, he was highly respected for his commitment to raising the global standing of Korea, and was appointed as the country chair of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Mr. Zhin served as the 10th governor of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) in 2014. During his tenure as governor, Mr. Zhin promoted financial innovation in a bid to raise consumer confidence in the financial industry as well as to strengthen the protection of financial customers. His other major achievements as governor includes reforming the existing financial practices for the convenient use of financial services, commitments to combatting five financial corruptions (voice phishing, illegal bond, unlawful collection of claims, binding deposit, and insurance fraud) as well as supporting fintech companies for the future of the financial industry. On the basis of his experience in the financial market, Mr. Zhin has been providing valuable guidance on various financial issues with a multi-dimensional and insightful vision.
