Hyun Dong Lee is a partner in Lee & Ko’s Corporate Practice Group. He provides strategic and practical advice on complex regulatory and corporate governance matters, with a particular focus on compliance, risk management, internal investigations, ESG, and responses to regulatory challenges.

Mr. Lee brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Lee & Ko, he served as a prosecutor at the Busan, Seoul, and Incheon District Prosecutors’ Offices, where he handled a wide range of public security matters involving labor and election issues, as well as general criminal cases.

Since 2000, Mr. Lee has held senior executive positions at major Korean corporate groups and their affiliates, including roles in corporate restructuring, legal affairs, compliance management, and chief compliance functions. In these capacities, he was responsible for developing and implementing legal strategies, risk management initiatives, and compliance systems across large corporate organizations.

Notably, in 2009, when compliance programs were still at an early stage of development in Korea, Mr. Lee led the establishment and implementation of a group-wide compliance system, playing a key role in embedding a compliance culture within the organization. In subsequent senior compliance roles at major corporate affiliates, he also led responses to significant compliance issues and implemented practical improvements to strengthen compliance management systems.
