Jeong Hwa Kim joined the Criminal Defense Group at Lee & Ko in 2026 after completing 10 years of public service, most recently as a prosecutor in charge of labor and serious industrial accident crimes at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office.

During her tenure as a prosecutor, Ms. Kim handled numerous significant labor cases, including unfair labor practice cases involving listed companies and violations of the Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act by major platforms and school foundations. She also extensively handled serious accident cases involving large-scale construction sites and corporations. In addition, she was recognized for her expertise in the fields of labor and serious industrial accidents, serving as the General Supervisor of the Prosecution Service’s Serious Industrial Accident Cases Manual in 2025.

Furthermore, Ms. Kim led research initiatives on artificial intelligence and advanced technologies within the prosecution by heading the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office’s AI and Blockchain Community and the AI Criminal Law Research Group, and authored multiple papers in related fields. She also actively participated in international discussions in these areas, demonstrating strong global communication skills by serving as both moderator and simultaneous interpreter at international conferences on digital assets attended by prosecutors.

Based on this experience, Ms. Kim provides tailored legal services to clients across a wide range of areas, including crimes related to artificial intelligence and virtual assets, labor and serious industrial accident cases, cross-border criminal disputes, and compliance matters.
