Lee & Ko successfully advised LS Group on a deal that involved (i) transferring of LS Automotive’s automobile parts business to a joint venture company established by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Ltd. (“KKR”) and (ii) transferring of LS Mtron’s copper foil / thin film business to a special purpose vehicle established by KKR. LS Mtron is a leading industrial machinery and high-tech components company in Korea. LS Automotive, a wholly-owned subsidiary of LS Mtron, is one of the top-tier suppliers for vehicle components in Korea. In order to secure investment resources and strengthen the company’s global network, LS Mtron attracted an investment from KKR, a global private equity fund. This transaction was successfully completed on February 28, 2018.
