Lee & Ko helped defense Company P establish an anti-corruption compliance system, which conducts business in numerous countries around the world. As a result, Company P came to have a system that minimizes the risk of the company’s violations of domestic laws — the Act on Anti-Bribery to Foreign Public Officials in International Commerce as well as foreign anti-corruption laws including the US FCPA and the UK Bribery Act.
Lee & Ko identified the existing areas of risk through questionnaires and interviews at each of the Company P’s overseas business sites. Based on results of the diagnosis, Lee & Ko provided comprehensive consultation on streamlining and improvement of internal anti-corruption system, advising on the amendment of internal regulations related to anti-corruption, reorganization/strengthening of internal department responsible for domestic and overseas anti-corruption, improvement of internal control systems, enhancement of selection process of local partner companies and agents and supervision systems. In addition, Lee & Ko also provided necessary materials to build anti-corruption prevention systems for Company H’s overseas businesses such as draft internal regulations and template agreements that incorporate the necessary anti-corruption
provisions.
