Lee & Ko represented 31 creditors including Korea Development Bank in the sale of shares in Hyundai Cement Co., Ltd. by the above creditor financial institutions to Hanil Cement Co., Ltd. for approximately KRW 477 billion. The transaction was under great attention from the relevant industry as it involved two of the largest cement suppliers in Korea and would bring about significant change in the landscape of the nation’s cement market. As expected from its importance, this transaction required a careful balancing of interests between the sellers, the buyer and the target company. By providing appropriate legal solutions and effective advice in a situation where a high level of conflicts of interest existed, Lee & Ko contributed to the successful execution of the share purchase agreement in March 31, 2017.
