Lee & Ko successfully represented Samsung SDI Co. (“Samsung SDI”) in its purchase of Cheil Industries Inc. for about KRW 3.7 trillion. The deal took place as part of an effort to consolidate the Samsung Group’s materials businesses. The merger was completed on July 1, 2014. Through the merger, Samsung SDI secured a platform that will assist the company into becoming a total solution provider for high-quality materials and energy.
