Legal advisors for the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Project

Lee & Ko acted as project financing legal advisors for the Louisiana Sabine Pass Liquefaction Project in May 2014, perhaps the most representative construction project of the shale gas extraction revolution that began in the United States. The project, which was successfully completed in May 2014, involved the participation of the Korea Gas Corporation in handling the first LNG exports from the U.S. to Korea. The project was considered particularly noteworthy from a Korean perspective due to the aggregate financing amount of USD 1.5 billion provided by the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, as well as various other Korean commercial banks.
