Advisory Service to Korea Credit Bureau (“KCB”) in relation to the Investigation by the Financial Supervisory Service (“FSS”) regarding Data Breach of 3 Major Korean Credit Card Companies

In relation to Korea’s largest data breach in history (the leakage of personal information of Lotte, NH Nonghyup and KB Kookmin cardholders in early 2014), a number of civil actions have been brought against the credit card companies in addition to FSS’s investigations and subject to sanctions.  Lee & Ko was retained by KCB (the credit card companies’ service provider, which the wrong-doer then worked for) immediately after the incident became known to the public to provide full-scale advisory service to KCB in relation to the FSS’s investigation and related sanctions.
