LG Household & Health Care’s Acquisition of the Beverage Division of Yungjin Pharmaceutical

Lee & Ko acted as legal advisor for the acquisition by LG Household & Health Care of the beverage division of Yungjin Parmaceutical during the second half of 2013. LG Household & Health Care, together with its subsidiary, Haitai Beverage, acquired the beverage division of Yungjin by way of a business transfer transaction, viewing the acquisition as an opportunity to diversify its product line in order to expand its functional beverage business. This transaction successfully closed at the end of 2013. Having advised LG Household & Health Care and Haitai Beverage at each stage of the transaction, Lee & Ko was instrumental in facilitating the successful completion of the business transfer in December of 2013. Through this acquisition, LG Household & Health Care expects to diversify its product offerings and effectively increase its market share in Korea’s steadily growing functional beverage market.
