Lee & Ko hosted a seminar titled “Expansion of Korean Business Participation in the South American Market: Key Issues and Trends.” The seminar was held at 2pm on April 19 in Lee & Ko’s Academia Conference Room. For the seminar, Lee & Ko invited representatives of leading Chilean, Colombian and Peruvian law firms to give presentations on emerging trends with regard to foreign investment and business activity in South America and various important and relevant legal issues related thereto.

In attendance at the seminar were approximately 40 guests (including business executives and in-house legal advisors) representing a number of prominent Korean companies currently engaged in or contemplating investment and business activities in South America.

South America is becoming known in Korea as a new "land of opportunity" for business and investment and many Korean corporations and entrepreneurs have a keen interest in obtaining information on opportunities, as well as practical business and legal realities for foreign business enterprises in South America. Accordingly, the participants found the seminar to be very worthwhile, as evidenced by the lively and extensive participation in the Q & A session that followed the seminar presentations.
