Jaewoo Kwak was selected as one of the ‘Rising Stars 2021’, the next generation of the corporate legal market announced by the Legal Times.

 

Mr. Kwak is a partner specializing in Intellectual Property (“IP”) that needs a deep understanding of technology and legal frameworks.  He works in a wide range of civil and criminal disputes over IP rights such as patents, trademarks, unfair competition, copyrights, trade secrets, design, domain names, employee invention, licensing, and entertainment.

 

Samsung Kim of Lee & Ko has been named as a “Rising Star” in Corporate Law by Legal Times published

 

Samsung Kim is one of Korea’s leading project finance lawyers, with deep experience in providing advice to clients on both inbound and outbound transactions on matters of finance and construction, real estate and environment across many sectors: SOC (social overhead capital), power plants, real estate development, etc.

 

Legal Times announced that Hyunyang Koo, an associate attorney at Lee & Ko, was named as “Rising Stars 2021” being one of the leading individual of the next generation in international arbitration market


Prior to joining Lee & Ko in 2016, she worked at Samsung C&T legal team where she handled legal affairs and international arbitration regarding various offshore construction contracts and claims in Australia, North America, South-East Asia and Middle East.  In Lee & Ko, as an international arbitration lawyer, she mainly focuses on international arbitration in relation to construction disputes as well as commercial disputes. 

 

The Legal Times announced Min Sik Kim, a partner in Lee & Ko’s Banking & Finance Group, has been selected as one of “the Rising Stars 2021” in the corporate legal market.


Mr. Min Sik Kim joined Lee & Ko in 2013. His practice focuses on insurance, project finance, structured finance & securitization (including ABS, ABL, and ABCP) and sale of non-performing loans.


Sangmin Kim was selected as one of the ‘Rising Stars 2021’, the next generation of the capital market announced by the Legal Times. 


Prior to joining Lee & Ko in 2015, Mr. Kim served as in-house counsel for Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd and Mirae Asset Global Investments. As a partner of Lee & Ko’s Securities & Capital Markets Group, Sangmin Kim’s practice encompasses securities, derivatives, capital market licenses, capital market legal compliance issues, asset management, private equity funds, venture capital funds and other types of investment funds, as well as dispute resolution in cases involving capital markets issues.


Ms. Hye Soo Kim of Lee & Ko’s International Trade Practice Group was selected as a “Rising Star” in the Legal Times on 11 March 2021.


Ms. Kim focuses her practice on international trade dispute settlement, particularly representing the Korean government in various state-to-state disputes before the adjudicators of WTO and FTAs.  She is also providing advice to government authorities and global businesses regarding various legal and policy issues of international trade.
