Lee & Ko’s managing partner, Yong-Seok Ahn stated that “while direct police investigations are expected to strengthen over the long term due to the adjustment of investigative authority between the prosecution and police, I believe that this year, the prosecution and police will make more of an effort to establish the new system rather than conduct a large-scale investigation so that the newly amended laws become settled” and added that “as procedures have become more complex in practice, the need for professional lawyers have increased and there will be more work for criminal lawyers.”
