On April 24, 2020, Korea Economic Daily introduced Lee & Ko as: “Lee & Ko has the largest-scale team of experts dedicated to the practice of antitrust among Korean law firms and provides its clients a one-stop service from advisory to litigation.”
Korea Economic Daily reported that “Lee & Ko’s Antitrust & Competition Group is led by Mr. Hwan Jeong , who served as a Competition Policy Advisor for the Korea Fair Trade Commission (the “KFTC”), and consists of key members such as Messrs. Sung Man Kim and Jung Won Park who have worked at the KFTC for over a decade. In addition to the manpower with extensive practical experience, the Group also includes an economic analysis team with economic experts who specialize in statistics.”
In mentioning how Lee & Ko obtained a not-guilty verdict in criminal investigation brought against NAVER for the charge of intentionally omitting to report corporate affiliates by raising legal issues such as whether the “intent” element has been satisfied, Korea Economic Daily dedicated such result to “achievement of Lee & Ko’s Antitrust Criminal Defense Team, a team of ex-prosecutors including Messrs. Jang Woo Park, Sang Sik Jeong, Jae Deog Bae, and Kwang Bae Park providing legal service extending to all phases of criminal action, from initial response to the Prosecution’s decision.”
