On March 29, 2020, The Korean Economic Daily reported that it recently analyzed the number of attorneys in Korean law firms and stated, “The increase in the number of attorneys will lead to an increase in the law firm’s competitiveness and revenue over the long term, and also shows that it is a good job to work at.” It also reported, “Lee & Ko grew 5.6% (27 attorneys) since February of last year, totaling a number of 504 Korean attorneys. As a result, the gap with Bae Kim & Lee, which employs 432 Korean attorneys, has widened, making Lee & Ko the second largest law firm in Korea based on the number of attorneys.”
The Korean Economic Daily also wrote, “The total number of foreign attorneys in Korea working in corporate counseling and international affairs in the top ten law firms is currently at 604, exceeding 600 for the first time,” adding that “Of these law firms, Lee & Ko is the second largest with 109 foreign attorneys.”
