Lee & Ko introduced its Trade Secret & Technology Leakage Disputes Response Team on November 24, 2019 to respond to the increasing number cases concerning the leaking of trade secrets and technology in Korea.
The Korea Economic Daily stated that “Lee & Ko’s dedicated team, which was first established in 2011, continues to expand and currently has a total of 48 members that consist of Korean lawyers, US lawyers, and digital forensic experts (for PC, cell phone evidence analysis). Attorney Unho Kim, the head of the IP Practice Group, is team leader, while Attorney Tae Yop Lee, team leader of digital forensics, Attorney Keun Beom Park, a former chief prosecutor at Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office take on central roles in the team.” Further, it introduced that “Lee & Ko received attention for its role in representing Samsung in “the patent war of the century” between Samsung and Apple, and also has helped bring a settlement on behalf of POSCO in a trade secret litigation with Nippon Steel.”
