[Korean Economic Daily] Global Survival Strategy…Companies Applying for Antitrust Compliance Program Doubles Compared to Previous Year [Lee & Ko’s Antitrust & Competition Practice Group]
A column by Lee & Ko partner Jeong-Ho Sun was published in the Korean Economic Daily. In the column “Global Survival Strategy…Companies Applying for Compliance Program Doubles Compared to Previous Year”, Mr. Sun explained, “Companies that seek to implement a new antitrust compliance program require sufficient time for its implementation and should approach it as a mid-term to long-term project,” adding that, “From the outset, a good approach is to consult with an expert to design and implement the introduction and operation of an antitrust compliance program.”

[Asia Economy] “Regulation of large corporations under the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act need to be reassessed as the law reduces corporate value and hinders management efficiency”
On November 20, 2024, Asia Economy reported on Lee & Ko attorney Jeong-Ho Sun’s participation in the seminar, of which the main topic for discussion was “Unreasonableness of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act’s Regulation of Large Corporations and Issues with its Application Under Other Laws”. 

At the seminar, which was co-hosted by the Federation of Korean Industries and the Korean Association for Broadcasting & Telecommunication Studies, Attorney Sun said, “Broadcasting policy that takes into account the strong social responsibility and social value guarantees required of media companies is needed” and expressed that, “nonetheless, it is necessary to examine whether the type of broadcasting company ownership regulation should take the form of ex ante regulation.”

[The Naeil News] Big law firms working on the antitrust field
News of Lee & Ko’s Antitrust & Competition Criminal Defense Team was reported in the Naeil News. Naeil News reported that “Lee & Ko held two successful briefing sessions on the ‘Connected Payment System for Goods and Services Provided’ with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. In addition, Lee & Ko’s bench features prominent lawyers Hyongkun Kim, who both served as Senior Prosecutor of the Anti-corruption Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, and Su Jin Jung, who were in charge of the Antitrust Tribunal at the Seoul High Court, were recently recruited.”

[Aju Business Daily] [Lee & Ko strengthens ability to respond to antitrust criminal investigations into companies, boosting in recruitment]
March 3, 2021: The Aju Economic Business Daily reported that Lee & Ko is strengthening its Antitrust Criminal Investigation Team by aggressively recruiting talent. The news report read, “In February, Lee & Ko recruited Su Jin Jung, an experienced antitrust judge, to bolster is criminal and civil litigation teams” and “In addition, Lee & Ko has recently recruited a former KFTC director and deputy director, and is working on hiring two former senior-level prosecutors with expertise in antitrust.”
