LG Chem’s green bonds deal, which Lee & Ko assisted in carrying out, was chosen as the Deal of the Year 2019 by Asian-mena Counsel Magazine. Asian-mena Counsel Magazine is a legal magazine for the Asia region published by the Pacific Business Press which selects and announces the most significant legal consultation cases each year. Lee & Ko was the only Korean law firm to be awarded this year, showing off its capabilities in the capital market. LG Chem's global green bond issuance amounted to approximately $ 1.6 billion, and is considered a very significant deal as it was the largest issuance of green bonds by any Korean company and the world’s first green bonds issued by a chemical company.
