Lee & Ko is delighted to announce that Mr. Tae Hee LEE, the founder and former managing partner of Lee & Ko, was awarded with ‘the 40th Korean Legal Culture Award’ by the Korean Bar Association on August 31st.  He is one of the first “law firm” generation attorneys in Korea and founded Hanmi Law Offices, the predecessor of Lee & Ko in 1977.  Mr. Lee received a LL.B. degree from the Seoul National University and a LL.M. from Harvard Law School.  Mr. Lee built up Lee & Ko as one of the best and largest law firms in Korea.  After much hard work, he left the firm quietly and with humility, which fact has been noted and praised by the public.  The Award was presented to Mr. Lee on the account of his numerous contributions in facilitating international exchanges of legal culture and practices and his role in establishing a model law firm culture and in cultivating attorneys.  The Korean Legal Culture Award is given annually to a legal professional who made a significant contribution in the protection of human rights or in the development/exchange of legal culture.
