Ug Lee is a senior consultant for Lee & Ko's Healthcare Practice Group, with special expertise concerning the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory practices in the healthcare/health insurance sector. In addition to extensive experience acquired by Mr. Lee in the course of a 16-year career working in Korea's Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA), he has also successfully advised numerous pharmaceutical and medical device industry clients on a broad range of related issues since 2005. Mr. Lee has developed an especially excellent reputation for advising/assisting clients involved in introducing new pharmaceutical products and medical devices in the Korean market, particularly in connection with the complex process of obtaining approvals for optimal reimbursement pricing levels for such newly introduced products and medical devices. Mr. Lee has also been instrumental in assisting clients with procedures required for avoiding reductions in reimbursement price levels, as well as advising on the development of strategies for expanding the scope of permitted reimbursements and obtaining approvals for appropriate increases in reimbursement prices.
