Hye Soo Kim is recognized for her expertise in international trade, providing comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of matters including state-to-state disputes, trade policy, and import/export regulations.
She has successfully represented the Korean government before the WTO in matters such as trade remedies (United States - Washers) and food safety (Korea – Radionuclides). She also played a key role in Korea’s first FTA dispute brought under the labor chapter of the Korea – EU FTA.
Hye Soo has also advised the Korean government in major bilateral and multilateral forums on key trade agreements and international negotiations. Additionally, she assists clients with trade policy issues such as tariffs, export controls, economic security, and subsidy regulations introduced by Korea’s major trading partners, including the United States, the European Union, China, and Japan.
Specifically, Hye Soo offers strategic guidance on export controls and import regulations across a broad range of industries including semiconductors, batteries, steel, automobiles, and shipbuilding. She also advises exporters on compliance with U.S. and EU economic sanctions.
Moreover, she regularly represents clients in trade remedy investigations involving key industrial sectors including steel and chemicals.
