In sang Kang is one of the leading partners in the firm's Litigation Group. He has extensive experience and expertise in complex commercial litigation and he has litigated some of the largest and most complex cases that have been brought in the district and appellate courts in Korea. His legal practice has focused on complex business litigation, with emphasis on the following areas: securities fraud and shareholder disputes; director's liability defenses; management control disputes involving corporations, private and public institutions and religious organizations; representation of infrastructure projects, project finance and other investment funds in litigations and arbitrations arising from corporate financing and securities transactions; and real estate and construction litigations. In addition to active trial and appellate practice, Mr. Kang has extensive experience in international and domestic commercial arbitration.
He received an LL.B. from the College of Law, Seoul National University in 1991 and he was a visiting scholar at Duke University Law School in 2004-2005. Before joining Lee & Ko, he served as a judge for over five years at the Jeonju District Court and the Suwon District Court. He is a member of the Korean Bar Association and the Seoul Bar Association since 1993.
