Hak Tae Kim was an executive with a Korean securities company when he was recruited as a special hire by the Prosecutor’s Office of Korea in 2011 to be the first securities and financial investigation officer of the Central Investigation Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. Since then, he has played key roles in the investigations of major corporate and financial securities crime at the Joint Investigation Department for Securities Crimes of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office and Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.

Mr. Kim also served as the Deputy Director of the Capital Market Investigation Unit of the Financial Services Commission (FSC) and he is well known for his expertise and experience relating to investigations involving trading on undisclosed information, price manipulation and other unfair trading in the capital market.

He advises clients on corporate criminal matters and criminal securities and finance cases relating to capital market regulations and sanctions. His in-depth expertise makes him a key member of Lee & Ko’s criminal defense practice.
