He heads the Tax practice group at Lee & Ko, which is ranked in the top-tier in Tax practice by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and other law firm evaluators, with a well-earned reputation as a brilliant Tax litigation & consulting strategist. He is also ranked among the top 70 lawyers in Korea, in recognition of his stellar legal career.
In his tax practice, he provides counseling (including tax analysis and consulting) and litigation representation that are of exceptional quality to some of the major national and multinational corporations. For example, he provided tax analysis to a major Korean electronics company regarding withholding tax and tax refund issues related to its patent royalties, and he provided tax analysis related to a joint venture between one of the Korean conglomerates and a multinational electronics company. Mr. Lee also provided tax audit consulting services to corporations, which played essential role in the respective corporate tax audit.
Mr. Lee's practice also extends to tariffs, providing advice to various multinational companies related to tariff examination on transfer pricing.
Currently, Mr. Lee is quickly gaining a reputation in the China practice. He provides Korean and Chinese corporations with advices on M&A, establishment of entities in China, real estate investment, etc.
