Since becoming a patent lawyer in 2013, Mee Son has successfully handled a number of IP matters, including patent prosecution matters and IP disputes, as well as opinions of counsel relating to biological, pharmaceutical, and chemical technologies. She has extensive experience in prosecuting patents in a wide range of biological and chemical technologies involving antibodies, stem cells, enzymes, peptides, vaccines, organic compounds, films, and resin compositions. Ms. Son also has experience dealing with Patent listing, Patent Term Extension (PTE) applications, petitions prohibiting the sale of medicine to the MFDS, and procedures plant variety protection (PVP) to the KSVS.
Ms. Son obtained a Master's degree and a Ph.D. regarding the study of α-glucosidase at Hokkaido University (JP), and studied enzymes for one year in the Molecular Enzymology laboratory at the same institution. In addition, she has researched the preparation of human plasma proteins for proteomic analysis and cytotoxic effect of TCDD at the College of Medicine of Korea University.
