Lee & Ko is advising major domestic financial institutions on what is arguably 2019’s most significant financial market issue, the interest rate-linked derivatives fund (DLF).
As you may know, sharp declines in both the German Bund rate (German treasury bond interest rate) and the UK CMS interest rate caused substantial losses for DLFs, leading to disputes in which investors claimed that financial institutions missold DLF products.
Our expertise in derivative transactions, fund products, and various other financial products, along with our experience handling a wide array of financial compliance issues and large civil and criminal cases, allows us to provide all-round advice from the inception of the dispute so that financial institutions can respond appropriately to disputes and regulator sanctions.
Lee & Ko has established a task force consisting of top experts drawn from its banking and finance group (led by Woo Young JUNG) and dispute resolution group (led by Jae Man YU, Chan Youp SONG). This task force is dedicated to ensuring that DLF disputes are resolved reasonably through in-depth case analysis and presentation of accurate logic.
In addition to advising on DLF issues, Lee & Ko is currently assisting many clients in relation to sales of the German heritage real estate linked fund and the Lime Asset Management case.
