Lee & Ko advised Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, Catholic University of Korea on the establishment of Marina Health Promotion Centre (the “Center”) in the United Arab Emirates, which was the first case of a Korean hospital establishing a check-up center in a foreign country. Lee & Ko reviewed the various agreements entered into between Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital and its local partner, VSP Healthcare, regarding the establishment of the Center, and also advised on legal issues associated with the operation of the Center, including the legal status of the physicians from Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital who would be dispatched to the Center for certain periods.
