Lee & Ko Capital Markets Group Advises Credit Suisse in Relation to Hana Financial Group’s Capital Increase for Its Contemplated Acquisition of Korea Exchange Bank

Lee & Ko advised Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited, Seoul Branch (Credit Suisse), which acted as consultant to Hana Financial Group (Hana) for its issue of 34,114,000 new shares in the amount of KRW1,335,281,676,000 (approx. US$1.19b). The new issue was carried out to raise capital for Hana’s contemplated acquisition of Korea Exchange Bank (KEB), which is expected to have a significant impact on the Korean banking industry. Various international and domestic investors, including Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Schroder Investment Management Limited, Prudential Asset Management, Pictet Asset Management, Samsung Asset Management and National Pension Service of Korea, subscribed for the new shares.
