[eDaily] Lee & Ko Successfully Hosted Seminar on “Changes in the Intellectual Property Landscape”

On November 27, 2023, eDaily reported that Lee & Ko successfully concluded its seminar on “Changes in Intellectual Property Landscape,” which marked the seminar’s 9th anniversary.  Held on November 23, the seminar featured presentations by attorneys from Lee & Ko’s IP Practice Group: Ms. Eunwoo Vera Lee discussed recent lower court rulings on the misappropriation of achiehvements under the Unfair Competition Prevention Act, followed by presentation on recent trends and issues in pharmaceutical and chemical patent infringement.  Mr. Heon Lee shared his commentary on the latest IP case law, and Mr. Hayoun Chun discussed legal issues related to the use of AI in business. 

Mr. Un Ho Kim, Head of IP Practice Group at Lee & Ko, who organized this seminar, noted that “this year, novel legal issues have emerged with the rapid increase in the use of various IT technologies, including AI,” and “new discussions have been underway with a growing body of case law relating to various types of unfair competition acts and courts are developing new IP jurisprudence.”  He further noted that “Lee & Ko’s IP Practice Group, which leads the IP field, will continue to hold these events to introduce the latest issues in IP and to provide a venue for interactions among IP practitioners.”
