Lee & Ko’s IP Group Holds Symposium on Multi-Jurisdictional IP Dispute

On February 19, 2010, Lee & Ko and Finnegan LLP jointly held a symposium titled ‘Multi-Jurisdictional IP Dispute’ at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted by KITA (Korea International Trade Association) and Yonsei University and sponsored by Maeil Eoconomic Daily and ETnews.

 

About 400 market participants and parties of interest were invited to the symposium and provided helpful insights and opinions in the context of broad and lively discussions. Young Mo Kwon, a partner at Lee & Ko, gave a presentation on counterplan to US patent litigation focused on procedure of ITC and Hwan Sung Park, a partner at Lee & Ko, also gave a presentation on regulations on imports infringing on intellectual property rights. In addition, other experts (Seoung-Jae Lee, Director General of Korea Trade Commission and Sora Noh, Executive Vice President of SPH America LLC) and attorneys from Finnegan LLP (David Hill and Charles Suh) gave presentations on topics ranging from practical strategies to survive in dramatically increasing IP dispute to information about NPE (Non Practicing Entity), trade and protection of intellectual property rights.
