On February 23, 2020, the Korea Economic Daily published an article on Lee & Ko’s Media & Entertainment team, which has been attracting more attention as Korea’s entertainment products are quickly entering overseas markets.
The Korea Economic Daily reported, “[w]hen Hollywood investor/distributor Warner Bros. produced its first Korean film, ‘The Age of Shadows,’ Lee & Ko provided legal consultation for the entire process, from planning, investment and production to distribution and remake; and, similarly, Lee & Ko advised on the investment, distribution, and production of Director Bong Joon Ho’s film ‘Snowpiercer.’” The article added, “Choi Jung-Hwan, head of the Media & Entertainment team, has advised the entertainment industry for nearly thirty years since the early days of Hallyu, notably, having advised on the export of the K-drama, ‘Dae Jang Geum’ and the Korean film, ‘Shiri.’”
