On December 24, 2019, Legal Times published a year-end review of the intellectual property area of the corporate legal market. That review included a summary of the major accomplishments of Lee & Ko’s intellectual property group.
Legal Times reported that, based on a survey that it conducted, Lee & Ko’s intellectual property group was a favorite choice among in-house counsel. According to Legal Times, Lee & Ko has been very active and successful, for example defending Daewoong Pharmaceutical in the “botulinum dispute” against Medy Tox. In particular, the review discussed Lee & Ko’s representation of Big Hit Entertainment in a high-profile right-of-publicity case, in which Lee & Ko successfully obtained injunctions against a number of parties that made and sold magazines which copied and used without permission personal images and names associated with BTS, a world-famous musicians group represented by the client.
