Young Gee Park Receives Prime Minister’s Citation on 50th “Taxpayers' Day”

On March 3, officially designated as the “50th Taxpayers' Day,” Young Gee Park, Head Partner of Lee & Ko’s Customs Practice Group, received a special citation from the Prime Minister in recognition of Mr. Park’s contributions toward improvements in the tax/tariff system.
 
Specifically, Mr. Park was recognized for his contribution to development of more efficient customs administration practices. In this regard, as a member of the Joint Committee on Investigation of Violations, Mr. Park contributed to the development of more efficient operational methods for managing the tariff quota system, as well as the development of a cellphone tax-free system. He also participated in a Schematic Design Study for customs law revisions.
 
Mr. Park is one of the most prominent customs lawyers in Korea, and worked at the Korea Customs Service (KCS) prior to joining Lee & Ko in 2009. He previously also received a citation from the Strategy and Finance Minister on Taxpayers' Day in 2013 in recognition of his contributions to increasing public understanding and trust concerning tax administration practices and the development of a sound taxpaying culture.
