Lee & Ko was selected as the best performance law firm in the 2009 M&A legal advice by numerous law journals.
According to the M&A Legal Advisory Group League Table announced by Bloomberg, Lee & Ko had advised a total of 54 M&A deals (based on announced deals only) in 2009 with the aggregate transaction volume of USD12,049 million. In terms of both deal count and volume, Lee & Ko ranked second in Korea with a wide gap between the law firm that ranked the third. In deal volume, Lee & Ko showed only slight difference with the first-ranked firm (USD14,471 million), but showed a large gap with the third (USD6,902 million).
In addition, Lee & Ko ranked first in “number of announced deals” category pursuant to the “2009 Capital Market League Table: M&A Legal Advice Performance” compiled by the Korea Economic Daily and Yonhap Infomax, both of which are highly-regarded, authoritative journals in Korea.
The major M&A deals handled by Lee & Ko in 2009 include the sale of Airport Railroad (KRW 1.2 trillion won), Skoda Power, Liquor Business of Doosan, SK E&C, Hana Card, Qrix and On Media.
