Attorney Jin Hun Kim Recognized in Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific's 'Top 40 Under 40 2026'
Lee & Ko Attorney Jin Hun Kim has been selected for Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific’s ‘Top 40 Under 40 2026’ in recognition of his outstanding achievements, including his success in a claim valued at approximately KRW 106 billion brought on behalf of the Banpo Jugong Apt. Complex 1 — Districts 1, 2 and 4 — Housing Reconstruction Project Association against the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, seeking registration of transfer of ownership on the grounds of completed acquisitive prescription by possession.
Mr. Kim is a construction and real estate specialist whose practice focuses on litigation and advisory work relating to urban improvement projects, including redevelopment and reconstruction. He has built a strong track record of favorable outcomes across the full spectrum of project-related matters, including injunctions prohibiting general meetings, halting bidding procedures or suspending the performance of official duties; civil actions confirming contractor status and seeking damages; and administrative litigation to invalidate association establishment authorizations or rescind management and disposal plans.
He also achieved the distinction of having a constitutional complaint, filed on behalf of a housing reconstruction project association, referred to the Full Bench of the Constitutional Court — only the second such case since the mechanism was introduced. Most recently, he prevailed on behalf of the Banpo Jugong Apt. Complex 1 Housing Reconstruction Project Association in a claim valued at approximately KRW 106 billion for registration of transfer of ownership based on completed acquisitive prescription by possession. Lee & Ko Named “South Korea Firm of the Year” at Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards 2025
Lee & Ko received the honor of “South Korea Firm of the Year” at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards 2025.
Presented annually by Benchmark Litigation, a leading global publication dedicated to litigation and dispute resolution, the “South Korea Firm of the Year” is awarded to only one leading firm in each country in the field of dispute resolution. Ms. Hong is a construction and real estate specialist with strong industry experience in construction, real estate, energy, and social overhead capital (SOC) projects. Her practice includes negotiating EPC contracts related to the export of nuclear reactors to the Dukovany plant in the Czech Republic, providing regular legal counsel for overseas nuclear power plant exports for projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and representing special purpose companies established for privately financed infrastructure projects such as railways, particularly in cases involving total project cost increases and insurance claims. She also provides guidance and legal representation on a wide range of construction-related matters, including disputes arising from power plant construction projects.

For the category of the ‘Lawyer of the Year – South Korea’, this award was given to Lee & Ko’s attorney Pyoung Keun Song in recognition of his expertise and contribution in the area of Litigation and Arbitration. After serving as a judge for 17 years, Mr. Song joined Lee & Ko and has since led many important cases as an attorney specializing in litigation and arbitration, including the administrative appeal to reverse the corrective measures imposed against Qualcomm for its abuse of market dominance, the shareholder derivative suit against the directors of Hyundai Elevator, as well as the lawsuit requiring cancellation of administrative fine for acts of unfair intercompany transaction imposed on SK C&C. Mr. Song’s area of expertise include administrative lawsuits encompassing antitrust cases, finance and securities litigation, corporate litigation and criminal actions.
