Huijin CHAE is a partner in the Litigation Team. Due to his extensive knowledge and expertise, he is a prominent leader in the areas of Data Protection & Privacy, Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Anti-trust & Competition, Corporate and M&A Litigations.
Mr. Chae has continuously and consistently represented and provided his expert legal advice in a wide range of matters. He has represented various telecommunications and IT companies, with the focus on various issues in Data Protection & Privacy, Technology, Media & Telecommunications areas, including mobile and regulatory issues in internet services, such as issues regarding privacy, internet contents, and internet advertisement. He has represented major domestic and foreign portal sites in negotiations and litigation regarding defamatory postings and he has also provided his legal advice regarding reauthorization procedures for broadcasting systems, as well as, proffering guidance to foreign telecommunications providers with respect to extension of service in Korea. In addition to his experience in the foregoing areas, Mr. Chae has also been widely involved in representing various clients in corporate transactions, such as handling and overseeing the contractual process of computer systems development deals of various Korean airlines. Mr. Chae received his LL.B. in law from Seoul National University and an LL.M at the Georgetown University School of Law. He received his legal training at the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea. He is a member of the Korean Bar and the New York Bar Association.
