Hyung Sub Lim is a partner in the Litigation & Arbitration Group and North Korea Advisory Group. Since joining Lee & Ko in 2007 Mr. Lim has accumulated extensive experience and expertise in complex commercial litigation and has litigated some of the largest and most complex cases that have been brought in the district and appellate courts in Korea.
Mr. Lim's legal practice has focused on complex business litigation, with emphasis on the following areas: representation of PF and other investment funds in litigations and arbitrations arising from corporate financing and securities transactions, real estate, construction, security regulations, banking, insurance and corporate governance, North Korea matters, sanctions and Inter-Korea Economic Cooperation.
Currently, Mr. Lim serves as the Secretary General of Lee&Ko North Korea Advisory Group and works as an consultant for the Kaesong Industrial Complex Legal Consulting Committee and Special Committee on Unification Law of the Ministry of Unification, Special Committee for South and North Korea Law Studies of the Ministry of Justice, and the Seoul Bar Association's Unification Legislative Affairs Special Committee, as well as the Chairperson of Committee for Studies in Inter Korea Relation Legislative Affairs under of Korean Bar Association's Unification Studies Committee.
Mr. Lim lectured on North Korea issues at the Export-Import Bank of Korea, Korea Land & Housing Corporation (i.e., the project operator of Kaesong Industrial Complex), Korea Development Bank, Kookmin Bank, Lotte Group companies, Seah Group companies, PwC Samil, Dongguk University, Kangwon University, Handong University, the Korean Association of International Studies and North Korea Policy Forum.
