Elizabeth Shin is a Senior Foreign Attorney in our International Arbitration Team and a member of Lee & Ko’s Global Disputes Group. She has a wealth of experience handling commercial, construction and investment treaty arbitrations, and has played a key role in some of the most complex and high value claims handled by the team in recent years. She represents both domestic and foreign clients in international arbitrations conducted before the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, KCAB, SCC and LMAA, as well as cross-border disputes before courts in England, Europe, the Asia-Pacific and the U.S. Her areas of expertise include infrastructure, energy, nuclear, construction, shareholder and M&A, shipping, IP, technology, sports and the arts. She is also noted for her ability to handle high-stakes negotiations as part of pre-dispute discussions in multi-billion dollar projects.

Ms. Shin has co-authored the South Korea Chapter in “GAR Know-how: Investment Treaty Arbitration” for five consecutive years, and recently co-authored a KCAB article examining CAS arbitration and the revitalisation of sports arbitration in Korea.

Ms. Shin currently serves as a member of the ERA APAC Sub-Committee and also spearheads the ERA Pledge in Korea. Previously, she served a two-year term as a Member of the Seoul International Dispute Resolution Center’s (SIDRC) Public Relations Sub-Committee, where she was actively involved in promoting international arbitration in Korea and in the Asia Pacific Region.

In 2025, Ms. Shin was named as a “Next Generation Partner” in International Arbitration by Legal 500.
